I.Basque Country Watara Supervision Tournament 2023

Article by Egoitz

On December 22, Euskal-Retro organized the I.Basque Country Watara Supervision Tournament. We met at the Jofer bar in Santutxu (Bilbao) and played with the only Watara console we have. While we were playing PC Engine and Neo Geo the 8 players also played three good Watara Supervision games: Alien, Jaguar Bomber and Fatal Craft.

In the Alien game we played until our ship was destroyed for the second time, although we made some exceptions with some players. In the other two we played until the "Game Over".

We chose 3 airplane and shooting games because we like them a lot but in the next tournament we will change; and we will also choose games like Crystball or Sea Battle.

Egoitz was finally the most consistent player and managed to win this first Basque watara tournament; Anyway, everyone had a great time and said they will come again.

Our idea is to organize a new Basque watara tournament in June. By then we hope to have another console to be able to play more games and bring other games. On the other hand, 2 or 3 of our group will try to participate in the "High Scores" of the proposed games and upload their results.
